In aerospace, purchasing a cleaning wipe means choosing a product that will become part of a controlled manufacturing or maintenance process. Its purchase price is only one consideration. Customers also need confidence in its identity, consistency and the evidence behind its manufacture.
Choosing an AS9100D certified manufacturer gives aerospace buyers a stronger basis for that confidence. The standard builds on ISO 9001 with additional requirements developed for aviation, space and defence, helping suppliers manage the risks that matter in these demanding environments.
Aerospace requirements built on ISO 9001
ISO 9001 is a respected quality management standard used across many industries. ISO 9001 certified manufacturers can produce excellent products and maintain effective traceability. AS9100D incorporates that foundation and adds aerospace requirements covering areas such as operational risk, product safety, configuration management and control of external providers.
For aerospace procurement teams, the advantage is a quality management system assessed against the sector’s specific expectations. This provides additional evidence when qualifying a supplier and assessing how it controls work that could affect the customer’s operations.

For a presaturated wipe, useful traceability could connect the finished batch to its fabric and chemical batches, the applicable specification, manufacturing records and release checks. The precise records should be agreed for the application. A batch number is most useful when it leads to meaningful evidence.

Consider a proposed change of wipe fabric or chemical source. Depending on the application, the customer may need evidence that the change will not compromise the agreed cleaning process. Clear specifications, change controls and communication help prevent an apparently minor substitution from becoming a production problem.
The commercial benefit can extend beyond the wipe itself. Avoiding an unsuitable batch may prevent additional inspection, rework, interrupted production or a lengthy investigation. Certification does not eliminate risk, but it gives customers a stronger framework for evaluating how their supplier manages it.
Independent verification through OASIS
All AS9100 certified companies within the recognised IAQG certification scheme are included in OASIS, the global Online Aerospace Supplier Information System. Managed by the International Aerospace Quality Group, it provides certification and registration information for suppliers certified under IAQG rules to the 9100 series.
Aerospace customers can use OASIS as part of supplier selection and ongoing monitoring. Buyers should check the legal entity, certified site, scope and current certification status, rather than relying only on a logo or a certificate saved some time ago.
Speciality Wipes certification issued by BSI
Adamtech Ltd, trading as Speciality Wipes, holds BSI certificate FM 659488 for EN 9100:2018, technically equivalent to AS9100D, and ISO 9001:2015. Our certificate was issued on 11 September 2026 and shows an expiry date of 10 September 2029.
The certified scope covers the design, manufacture and supply of wet and dry wipes and bulk chemicals, supported by outsourced chemical blending, together with the contract manufacture of wet and dry wipes. A copy of our BSI certificate is included on the following page.
This certification gives aerospace customers independently assessed evidence of the quality management system supporting our certified activities. Product suitability still needs to be established against the relevant specification, customer approval and intended application; AS9100D certification does not itself approve every wipe for every aerospace use.

When comparing manufacturers, ask what supports the product: traceable records, consistent control of the specification and a clear approach to managing risk. AS9100D certification makes those questions part of a recognised aerospace quality framework and provides a compelling reason to prefer a certified manufacturer over one certified only to ISO 9001.
